EP Fellows Research Competition

EP FELLOWS IN TRAINING SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH COMPETITION | February 23, 2023

Western Atrial Fibrillation Symposium (Western AFib) is now accepting abstracts to be considered for a Fellow’s Research Competition. 

Western Atrial Fibrillation Symposium (Western AFib) will also be granting scholarships to residents and fellows enrolled in accredited electrophysiology fellowship programs in February 2023. Please visit here for more details.

COMPETITION DETAILS

This award is intended to support research of first- and second-year clinical fellows currently training in an ACGME electrophysiology fellowship program in the United States. Applicants will submit a scientific poster based on their research to Western AFib. A committee of faculty judges selected by the Western AFib Symposium leadership will review each submission and invite the top 5 fellows to attend the 2023 Western AFib Symposium to present their research live. Each of these fellows will receive a travel scholarship of $600, complimentary registration to attend the meeting, and compete for the following prizes:

1st Place: $5,000
2nd Place: $3,000
3rd, 4th, and 5th Place: $750

February 6th, 2023: Applicants notified of acceptance. Registration must be completed or a decline or cancellation request must be received by February 10th, 2023. Please email your decline or cancellation request to Liz Minor at lminor@hmpglobal.com.

COMPETITION AWARDEES WILL RECEIVE:

The top 5 posters will be selected by a panel of faculty judges. All 5 fellows will be invited to present their posters to the judges at the meeting. Prizes will be awarded as follows:

1st Place: $5,000
2nd Place: $3,000
3rd, 4th, and 5th Place: $750

ELIGIBILITY

The applicant must be a first- or second-year clinical fellow in an ACGME electrophysiology fellowship program in the United States
The poster must be based on the applicant’s research in the field of atrial fibrillation
One poster may be submitted per applicant
Submissions must be received by January 23, 2023 to be considered for the scholarship

TERMS OF ACCEPTANCE

Provide a completed W9 form by February 10, 2023
Register for the meeting by February 10, 2023
Attend the full conference including all mandatory scholarship related sessions/events designated throughout the agenda
